Thomas Rogers

ETOWAH Thomas LeRoy Rogers, 89, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011, at Woods Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Etowah. During World War II he served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was retired from Johnson Controls..Survivors include his loving wife of 67years, Ruth Kilpatrick Rogers, of Etowah; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and David Mantooth, of Calhoun, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Sherry Rogers, of Lenoir City, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Shad Mantooth and wife Cassie, of Middleburg, Fla., Lisa Fleenor and husband David, of Knoxville, Tenn. and Brian Mantooth, of Calhoun, Tenn., and six great-grandchildren.Funeral service will be held 8 p.m. today, May 8, 2011, in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Fox officiating. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble Monday, May 9, 2011, at McMinn Memory Gardens for the 10 a.m. committal service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Etowah, 824 Washington Ave., Etowah, TN 37331.Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah in charge of arrangements.
