Martha Poston

Martha B. Poston, 84, of Knoxville, formerly of Soddy-Daisy, passed away peacefully on Mothers Day, Sunday, May 8, 2011, in Hilton Head, S.C.She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a devout Catholic.She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Poston Sr.; a daughter, Nancy Poston (Stan) Hazelwood, of Tyler, Texas; and six brothers and sisters.Martha and her husband Carl where the founders and former owners of Montlake Shooting Center where Martha was always a welcoming smile to all who visited there. She loved people, especially children, and her German spirit brought joy to all who knew her.She is survived by her son, Carl N. (Nadine) Poston Jr., of Chattanooga; daughter, Linda Poston (Brett) Jaffrey, of Knoxville; sister, Maria Cebertowicz, of Kitzingen, Germany; brother-in-law, Leon Zakrzewski, of Grand Island, N.Y.; granddaughter, Kellie Jaffrey (Mac) Purdy; step-grandchildren, Al Gutman, Joelle Cheatham, April Purcell and Kevin Hazelwood; great-grand children, Scarritt, Mackinlay and Baden Purdy and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Sts Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father George Schmidt and Father Bertin Glennon officiating.Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.Interment will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011, in Chattanooga National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be given to the Alzheimer's association Mid-South Chapter, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive, Suite 22, Chattanooga, TN 37421.Condolences and memories may be shared at williamsonandsons.com.Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379.
