FORT OGLETHORPE Audie Lee Sloan, 80, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011. She was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was of the Baptist faith. She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, who will be sadly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zeke and Arkie Nichols; her husband, George Millard Sloan and two brothers, Ralph and Fred Nichols. Survivors include her two daughters and son-in-law, Pat and Lawrence Wilbourn, of Rossville, Ga., and Linda Sloan, of Dallas, Texas; sister, Jewell Dean Stephens, of Rossville, Ga.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with the Rev. Brent Bass officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.
