Robert Alexander Hurd Sr., 75, of Chattanooga, passed Monday, May 23, 2011, in a local health care facility.He was preceded in death by wife, Ruby Jackson Hurd; parents, Harry Hurd Sr. and Willie Mae Boyd Hurd; brothers, Dennis and Harry Hurd Jr.; sister, Juanita Parks.Survivors indlude eight children, Allen (Edith), David (Janice) and Robert Hurd Jr., of Chattanooga, Charles (Virginia) Hurd, of South Pittsburg, Tenn., Marie Jackson, Dianna (Cedric) Hurd and Betty (Bradford) Johnson, all of Chattanooga, Frances (Brian) Wordlaw, of South Pittsburg; one sister, Margaret (Ernest) Hurd, Chattanooga; goddaughter, Ingrid Tucker; 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.Funeral: noon Wednesday, June 1, 2011, in the funeral home chapel with Minister Calvin Jackson officiating.Visitation: 10 a.m. until funeral hour Wednesday.Arrangements by Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, Franklin-Strickland Pinkard Bryan Smith Funeral Directors, 1724 McCallie Avenue, 2565-4414.
