Joyce Williams

FLINTSTONE Joyce Holcomb Williams, 60, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, in a local health care facility. She was born in Chattanooga on Dec. 26, 1950, a daughter of the Late Columbus Gardner and Lucille Tucker Holcomb. Mrs. Williams was of the Baptist faith and was a 1968 graduate of the Kirkman High School. She married her husband on June 21, 1969. Joyce worked for Rossville Police Department in Aug 1984 til January 1989. She then went to work for the Catoosa County Sheriffs Department from January 1989 til September 2011. Joyce answered the first 911 call for Catoosa County and the became the 911 Administrator from September 2002 til her retirement September 2011.She was also preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Holcomb; a cousin, Gloria Sherrill.Survivors are her loving husband, Larry Williams; children, Kelly and Gayla Williams, Ringgold, Jeffrey and Erica Williams, Flintstone; five grandchildren, Phillip, Garrett, Nathan, Justin, and Blake; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Kerry Parker, Rockwood, Tenn.; brother and sister-in-law, Rickey and Sherrie Holcomb, Chickamauga; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Tracy Bass officiating.
