Martha Wey

Martha Seitz Way, of Signal Mountain, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011. The daughter of Charles Edward Seitz and Nancy Hughes Seitz, she was born in Blacksburg, Va., on Nov. 12, 1918. She was graduated from Randolph Macon Women's College in Lynchburg, Virginia and during WWII served with the Red Cross in Belgium and Germany, where she met her future husband, Captain John David Wey of Chattanooga, Tenn. They were married Dec. 21, 1946.A long time resident of Rivermont, Martha relocated to the Alexian Village on Signal Mountain after her retirement from TVA. Martha was an active member and volunteer in the Alexian Community. In addition, she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club, the First Presbyterian Church and the Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church.Martha is survived by her daughter, Nancy Wey Evans and her husband, Dr. Charles A. Evans, of Signal Mountain; her son, John David Wey Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Susan Wey Legg, Rebecca Lynn Way, James David Wey; great-grandchildren, Anna Collette and Isaac Michael Legg.Pl easevisit www.heritagefh.com to share words of condolence with the family.The family wishes to thank the staff at the Alexian Village for their care and many kindnesses.
