Harold Smith

Harold Stafford Smith Sr., 85, of Hixson, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the people he loved. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and retired from GMAC.He was a member of Hixson United Methodist Church and was an avid golfer.Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Smith; his parents, Reuben Lawrence Smith Sr. and Fannie Mae Smith; two brothers, Raymond and Lawrence Smith.Survivors include his son, Harold S. (Dawn) Smith Jr., of Tampa, Fla.; daughter, Debbie Lynn (Greg) Bosworth, of Hixson; two grandsons, Nicholas (Amanda) Smith and Dax (Sheryl Wilson) Smith and one great-granddaughter, Tara Elizabeth Smith, all of the Chattanooga area; a special nephew, Larry Smith; several other nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 3 until 7 p.m. today at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev.
