Roy Davis

Roy W. Davis, 91, of Chattanooga, entered into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, in a local healthcare facility. He was born March 16, 1920, in Florence, Ala. Roy moved to Chattanooga with TVA and later retired from Rogers Bailey Supply Company as an outside industrial representative. He was a longtime member of Ridgedale Baptist Church, Deacon Emeritus and member of the Harvest Sunday School Class. Roy was a veteran of WWII serving in the European Theater as a Sergeant in the Army.He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Andrew Davis; his wife of 63 years, Lucille; daughter, Wanda Camp; sons-in-law, Mike Camp and Don Keith; brothers, Cecil Davis and Lloyd Davis.Survivors include his daughter, Mary Jo Keith, of Chattanooga; son, Roy W. Davis Jr. (Sheena), of Chattanooga; six grandchildren, Susan Keith, Stephanie Crabtree (Ron), Tyler and Garrett Davis, Michelle Apps (David) and David Camp (Becky); great-grandchildren, Lindsey Crabtree, Ronnie Crabtree, Hailey Apps, Hayden Apps, Henley Apps, Hannah Apps, Sarah Camp and Rebeka Camp; brother, Neal Davis (Carolyn) and special friend, Ella Mae Ivester.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgedale Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Owens and the Rev. David Apps officiating.Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
