Mary Ellen PierceROSSVILLE Mary Ellen Games Pierce, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 28, 2012.She had lived in the North Ga. area for most of her life and was a member of Mission Ridge Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Fred and Mattie Emma Games; husband, William Leon Pierce; and daughter, Mary Ann Waid. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Pierce-Smith (James H. Smith), of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; son-in-law, Jimmie Reese Waid of Rossville; two brothers, Roy Games of Ringgold, Ga. and Carl Games, of Chickamauga, Ga.; sister, Nellie Sue Jones, of Rossville; and grandson, Joshua Ryan Waid, of Rossville.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Ted Verville officiating. Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
