William Thompson

William Michael Thompson, 60, of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, in a local hospital.A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Michael was formerly employed with Wheeland Foundry and was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam.He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Bennett Thompson; and his brother, Charles K. Thompson.Survivors are his children, Stephen Thompson, Nashville, William Christopher Thompson and Samantha Jane Hedgepath, both of Candler, N.C.; father and stepmother, William B. and Terry Thompson, Ooltewah; sister, Pam Pfaff, Nashville; several grandchildren.A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to theWoundedWarriorProject.orgVisit www.heritagefh,com to share words of comfort to the family.Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road
