Irene Morrison

WHITWELL Irene Morrison, 85, went home to be with with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012.Ms. Morrison was a lifelong resident of Whitwell and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She was employed by the Marion County School Systems Nutrition Department where she cooked at Whitwell Elementary School until her retirement. For those who knew her, they were blessed by her hard working mentality and her love for her family, God and the Atlanta Braves.Ms. Morrison was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Sr. and Adie Cartwright; husband, Carl Morrison Sr.; brothers, David Cartwright, Henry Cartwright Jr. and Arthur Cartwright; children, William "Bill" Fry and Michael Morrison; grandson, Justin Holtcamp.Those left to cherish her memories are children, Joe (Carolyn) Morrison, Judy Cantrell, Susan (Kevin) Banas, Melinda (Gerald) Bone, Chris (Carol) Morrison; grandchildren, Joey (Kim) Morrison, Michael Goforth, Bobby Cantrell, Chad Cantrell, Josh (Karla) Holtcamp, Billy Morrison, Rebekah Morrison, Joetta Ramsey and Andy Morrison. There are numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Family will receive friends 11 a.m.-9 p.m. today, Aug. 11.Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev.
