JC Tankersley

J.C. Tankersley, 91, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at his residence.Mr. Tankersley was born in Tipton, Okla., and was a WWII US Army veteran. He was a member of Spring Creek Church of God and had been employed as a crane operator at Tennessee Products and also worked at Chattanooga Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maebel Tankersley; second wife, Emma L. Tankersley; parents, Eugene and Mattie Tankersley; and two sons, Harold Tankersley and Jerry Neal Davis.Surviving are children, Juanita (Doyle) Sisk, Diane (TJ) Bannister, Tom (Carol) Tankersley, Dewane (Susan) Tankersley and Debbie (Bill) Dunn; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 15, 2012, at the funeral home.Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at the funeral home with Dr. Raymond Hodge officiating.Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.Please share your condolences at www.chattanoogaeastchapel.com.Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 404 S.
