Ovell Shaw

Ovell Shaw, 103, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at her residence. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Will Shaw; daughter, Willie Mae Duckworth; son, Samuel Shaw; and grandson, Razale Shaw.Survivors include daughters, Oceola (Walter) Few and Annie (Rufus) Benning, both of Chattanooga; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Ella Mae Savage, of Chattanooga and Wedia Strong, of Buffalo, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends.Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home.Funeral service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church with Pastor Timothy Careathers as the officiant and Pastor Reginald Poindexter, eulogist.Burial: Highland Memorial Gardens.
