Minnie Sauer

Minnie Sauer, 95, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012.She was born on Aug. 7, 1917 near London, Ky., to Adam and Louisa Konitzer Schott.Minnie was an avid sports fan and participant. As a young woman she played on a softball team for Union Underwear, in Frankfort, Ky., where she worked for 26 years. Kurt and Minnie won many bowling awards on teams in Hamilton, Ohio.They traveled often on fishing and camping trips. She enjoyed watching University of Kentucky basketball and the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves. Minnie always enjoyed visiting her niece Louise (Lenwood) Nichols of White House, Tenn., and spoiling their dogs.However, she loved the Lord the most and was faithful to His church and His Word. She was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and the Genesis Sunday School Class in her later years.She was preceded in death by husbands, Leo True and Kurt Sauer.Minnie is survived by a daughter, Joyce (Jimmy) Johnson; sons, H. Gene (Lillie) True, of Frankfort, Ky., Ronald (Patty) True, of Chattanooga, (her caregivers for her last 9 years); brother, Elmer Schott; sister; Effie Chestnut of Laurel County, Ky.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev.
