Lurul Stewart

Lurul Hughley Stewart, 83, the Lord called her on Tuesday morning, Aug. 14, 2012. She was born in Camp Hill, Ala., and was a member of The Christian Fellowship C. P. Church, where she served on the Mothers board until her health began to fail her.She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Mattie L. Hughley; Father, Johnny Hughley and mother, Nina Hughley; son, Jerome Hughley; and grandson, Dameion Jennings.Survivors include her son, Langston H. Spence; three daughters, Terrie J. Spence, Roz J. Spence and Vanessa Jennings-Humphrey; grandchildren, Rico, Sam, Mark, Langston II, Courtney, Desha, Meka, Jerome II, Jay, Brandie, Jasmine, Dale, Dameion and Chanda; brothers, S. J. (Louise) Hughley, Maodis (Vanice) Hughley and James (Alzalene) Hughley; two sisters, Maerean Campbell and Shirley Maddox; thirty great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 20, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastors Rozell Edmonds, Delford Hughley and Nathaniel Carter officiating. Interment: Forest Hills Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 7 8 p.m. today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
