LaFAYETTE Betty Gravitt White, 82, passed away Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012. She was born to the late Huey and Cecile Rogers Hampton on March 21, 1930 in LaFayette. She was a member of Shattuck Blvd. Church of Christ, former manager of Dixie Dime in LaFayette and she enjoyed crochet, cross word puzzles, gardening and spending time with her family. She was also preceded in death by two Husbands, Junior Gravitt and Archie White, Brothers; Harold, H.D. and Bob Hampton; Sister, Dorothy Hampton. Survivors include five Children, Linda Gail Muse, of Chickamauga, Becky (Jerry) Crowe, of Trion, Jesse Wayne (Cheryl) Gravitt, of LaFayette, Johnny (Debbie) Gravitt, of Rock Spring, Jeff (Mellisa) Gravitt, of Inman, S.C.; Sister, Gin Wooten, of LaFayette; Brother; Allen Hampton, of Cedar Bluff, Ala.; 19 Grandchildren; numerous Great-Grandchildren; and six Great-Great-Grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today and prior to the funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 21, in the funeral home chapel.
