Charlie Jones

Charlie Lee Jones, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 24, 2012.He was of Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Pearl Jones; five sisters, four brothers, two sons, and two grandsons.Survivors include his devoted wife, June Frances Jones; children, Betty Sue, Debbie Jones-Ellis, Angelia (Timothy) Brewer, Ronald, Charles Edward (Sandra) Charles "Boney", Chattanooga; Francis (Patrice) Jones, Houston, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Christine Turner, Chattanooga, Lucille (Robert) Floyd, Chicago; brothers, Robert (Magdalene), Chattanooga; Tommy (Evadene) and Grady (Shirley) Jones, Memphis; daughter-in-law, Anita Jones; sister-in-law, Ophelia Smith; a host of nephews and nieces and tons of friends.Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 in the chapel, Mr. Larry High officiating.Interment in Forest Hills Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 67 p.m. this evening at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave. 622-9995.
