Demetrius Rooks

Sr.Demetrius Lawan Rooks Sr., 47, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, in a local hospital.He was employed by Chattanooga Housing Authority. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cillius Scott, Geneva Scott, Thomas Rooks, Sr. and Velma Rooks; and father, Thomas Rooks Jr.Survivors include his sons, Labron Rooks, Demetrius Rooks Jr., Devon Rooks and Maleek Rooks; three grandchildren; mother, Sandra Burton; brothers, Davon Rooks, Robert (Constance) Rooks, Thomas (Dorothy) Rooks III and Walter (Billie) Rooks; sisters, Sherryn Underwood, Sonya Burton, Mary Rooks Griffith, all of Chattanooga; aunt, Renee (Lorenzo) Dancy, of New York; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends.The body will lie-in-state after 1 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service at noon Saturday in the chapel.Burial: Forest Hills Cemetery.
