William Thompson

Pastor William Henry Thompson, 87, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, in a local health care facility.He was a member of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church. He was the pastor of New Emanuel Baptist Church for many years and also was the pastor for Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church until his health declined.Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Deseire Thompson of Marianna, Ark; one daughter, Dr. Christine (James) Rodgers, of Smyrna/Atlanta; three grandchildren, Angela McReynolds, of Atlanta, Dr. Daryl (Joanne) Wilson, of Chicago/Naperville, Ill., Attorney Kevin (Malita) Wilson, of Atlanta; four great-grandchildren, Symone McReynolds, Camila-Sofia Belloso-Wilson, both of Atlanta; twins, Colette and Genevieve Wilson, both of Chicago/Naperville; one brother, Lucuish (Dorothy) Thompson, of St. Louis, Mo.; brother-in-law, Roosevelt Johnson; sister-in-law, Berniece Motley, both of Marianna; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends. Funeral: today at 11 a.m. (CST) at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, Highway 1 (7 miles south of Marianna) with Pastor Sherman Baker as the eulogist.Burial: Marianna Memorial Cemetery.Marianna Funeral Home, 28 Court St., Marianna, AK 72360, (870) 295-4440.
