Jr.Frank Hunter "Bud" Thomas Jr., 81, of Ooltewah, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, following a lengthy illness.He was born Oct. 19, 1931 in Chattanooga to the late Elsie and Frank H. Thomas Sr.Mr. Thomas was of the Baptist faith and attended Morris Hill Baptist Church. He was retired from Averitt Express after 20 years of service.His son, Troy Thomas; sisters, Elizabeth Taylor and Mildred Combs preceded him in death.Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sharon Benton Thomas; daughter, Tena (Perry) Leibowitz, of Rockledge, Fla.; son, Dale (Jill) Thomas, of Ooltewah; grandchildren, Marcus Leibowitz, Zackary Leibowitz, Addie Thomas and Lilah Thomas; and great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Leibowitz.Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Dr. Keith McLeod officiating.Burial with Military Honors will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
