Sam Johnston

Sam "Poppy" Johnston, 94, of Chattanooga passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012.He was retired from Dixie Yarn and attended Mountain View Baptist Church. He enjoyed whittling, spending time with his family and he loved children.He was preceded in death by his wife, Nola Smith Johnston; son, Randall Johnston; great-grandchild, Charles Cook; parents, Robert and Addie Johnston; and several brothers and sisters.Survivors include three children, Linda Ingle, Jimmy (Donna) Johnston and Pat (Steve) Hickman; two sisters, Betty Johnston Pace and Chris Hall; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
