James Craze

James P. Craze, 80, of Hixson, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012.James was a native of South Pittsburg, Tenn., and was a graduate of Chattanooga Central High School where he never missed a day of school. He served our country during the Korean War serving in the Marine Corps. James was a retired carpet layer and owned and operated Craze Carpet for over 60 years. He was a longtime active member of Memorial Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Alice Craze; his first wife, Patricia Ann Craze; son, Randy Craze; and a daughter, Mitzi Craze.James is survived by his wife of 28 years, Helen G. Craze; two daughters, Connie Goines and her husband, Jimmy and Vicki Craze Sneed; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank the staff and their nurses at Hospice of Chattanooga for the care given to Mr. Craze during his illness.The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at the North Chapel.Services for James will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the North Chapel with Tom Castleman officiating.Burial will follow in National Cemetery with military honors.Memorial contributions may be made in James name to Hospice of Chattanooga, P.
