Jim Golston

James "Jim" E. Golston, 87, of Signal Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012.Jim was a native of Grundy County and was a longtime resident of Signal Mountain. He served our country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. Jim was the owner, operator and president of Golston Construction Co. and was a member of the Home Builders Association in Chattanooga. He was of the Presbyterian faith.Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lutisha Golston; and six siblings, Ralph Golston, Marie Rankin, Tommy Golston, Lucille Kirkpatrick, Launa Caldwell and Hazel Griffin.He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Jim Ballard and Ginger and Rick Ellis; five grandchildren, Chris and Lori Ballard, Katie Ballard, Zack Ballard, Hunter and Nick Ellis; four great grandchildren, Savana and Kaitlyn Ballard, McKenzie and Addie Skyles; siblings, Peggy and Rev. Harold Buck and Billy E. and Joann Golston; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Jan. 9 at the North Chapel.Services for Mr. Golston will be conducted at noon on Monday at the North Chapel with Rev.
