Rosalind Savard

Rosalind Savard, 72, of McDonald, Tenn., was taken home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012.Rosalind was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. Born in Bradley County in 1939, Rosalind grew up in Tennessee, graduating from Central High School in 1956. Rosalind went on to graduate from the McKenzie Business College and began her career at Manpower and American Lava as a secretary. Having a very strong entrepreneurial spirit, Rosalind soon began her home-building business as one of the first female residential contractors anywhere around. Blessed with a God-given talent for design, color-coordination and construction, Rosalinds contracting and design company quickly became one of the most successful and prominent in the area. Rosalind went on to start more businesses: Carpeting by Rosalind, Ageless Face, Active Lines, Rags by Roz, Choo Choo Car Wash as well as property development and residential real estate rentals to name a few. Rosalind was an avid bridge player, tennis player and member of the Ruritan Club. A lifelong Christian, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland.She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William J. Everhart and Kathryn G. Everhart; and brother, James Everhart.She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Basil Savard; sons, Louis Savard and his wife, Robin, James Sterchi and his wife, Lezlie. She has four grandchildren, Louis Savard III, Blake Savard, Tori Sterchi and Sheena Rowland; two great-grandchildren, Presley and Kensley; sister-in-law, Dr. Thelma Graeb.Visitation will take place from 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Brainerd Chapel, 8214 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421, and from noon until 1 p.m. on Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Cleveland, Tenn.Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Cleveland, Tenn., at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, with Pastor Jimmy Dale Patterson officiating.She will be buried in the family plot in Lee Cemetery, McDonald.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.ChattanoogaEastBrainerdChapel.com.Arrangements are by the Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory & Florist, East Brainerd Chapel, 8214 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
