Marion Elizabeth Fortenberry, 89, of Chattanooga died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, in a local health care center.A longtime resident of Bogalusa, La., Mrs. Fortenberry has lived in Chattanooga since 1990.She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was a longtime member and Sunday school teacher at Main Street Baptist Church in Bogalusa, La.She was preceded in death by her husband, F.G. Fortenberry and her son, the Rev. T.J. "Jim" Spencer; two brothers and two sisters.Survivors are her son, Darryl Fortenberry, Chattanooga; sister, Marjory Herrington, Hattiesburg, Miss.; grandchildren, Karen Myrick, Ryan Fortenberry, Debbie Forbes, Beth Bryant, Sharon Richardson and Tom Spencer; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home, Bogalusa, La., with burial to follow at Ponemah Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Academy or Gideons International.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort and view the memorial tribute.The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road.
