Mary Reed

Mary Lean Reed, 91, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at a local healthcare facility.She was a native of Pine Bluff, Ark. She retired as an LPN from Hamilton County Nursing Home, now known as Standifer Place. She was a faithful member of New Emmanuel Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Reed.Left to cherish her memory are cousins, Frances Archie and Nancy Quarles, of Oakland, Calif.; her adopted family George and Barbara Smith, of Chattanooga, Maria Smith, of Antioch, and Dr. George Alan Smith, of Washington, D.C.; devoted neighbors James Jones and Rachael Lindsey; a loving church family and a host of friends.Funeral services will begin at noon on Saturday Jan. 21, at New Emmanuel Baptist Church. Rev. Terrance Hannah officiating.Interment in Highland Memorial Gardens.The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
