Shawn Pope

Shawn Monroe Pope, 39, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012.He had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas for most of his life and was a member of Miracle Lighthouse Church. He had worked in the Construction Industry for most of his life and enjoyed fishing.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mildred and Joseph Long.Survivors include his father and stepmother, Larry (Karen) Pope, of The Rock, Ga.; mother, Regina Posey, of Soddy-Daisy; three children, Cody Pope and Joseph Pope, of The Rock, Ga., and Rose Marie Pope, of Barnesville, Ga.; three sisters, Lois Arevalo, of Cedartown, Ga., Kimberly Battles, of Soddy-Daisy and Samantha Light, of Concord, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with the Rev. Timothy West, Rev. James Westbrook and Rev. Monroe Long officiating.Burial will follow in Tyner Cemetery.The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. today and prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.Arrangements by W.L.
