Kenneth E. Denton, 72, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012 at his home in Cedar Bluff, Ala.Mr. Denton was born and raised in Chattanooga, retired from Roadway Express and a member of the Teamsters Union Local #515. He was of the Methodist faith and was an avid fisherman.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ordory and Ollie May Denton; sister, Ruth Goodson; and brother, Tilman Denton.Surviving are his children, Ken Denton, Lonnie Sheffey and Jerry (Stacey) Denton; grandchildren, Amanda and Dustin Sheffey; special friend, Sharon Taylor; brothers, Jerry Denton, C.L. (Barbara) Denton, Granville (Martha) Denton and J.D. (Toney) Denton; sister, Vicky Pitts; and many nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. today and from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. Bennie Mills officiating.
