Sr.FORT OGLETHORPE Clyde DeForest Penland Sr., 79, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at his residence. He was born Feb. 3, 1933 to the late Clyde and Euna Penland. After a 40 year career in the dairy business, he retired from Mayfield Dairies in 1998.Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Marcheta Cooper Penland; sons, Forest and Tammy, Van and Becky, Gene and Vicky; grandchildren, Jenny Penland, Trae and Dana Penland, Jeremy and Stephanie Penland, Laura and Ernie Boland, Amy and Damon Lindsey, Josh and Nicole Penland, Jessica and Zach Smith, Samantha Penland, Marcheta Carol Penland; great-grandchildren, Traven , Daulton, Chase, Taylor, Kaleb, Coulter, McKenzie, Cameron, Blaze, Keira and Elijah; brother, Red (Jean) Penland; sisters, JoAnn (Bob) Hill, Tona Penland; brother-inlaw, Jerry (Carla) Cooper; sister-in-law, Susan (Denny) Patrick and Janet Cooper; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview First Baptist Church with the Rev. Patrick Cooper, the Rev. Chris Cooper and the Rev. R.V. Wells officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.Interment will be in Peavine Cemetery.Active pallbearers will be grandsons: Trae, Jeremy and Josh Penland, Ernie Boland, Damon and Cameron Lindsey, and Zach Smith.Honorary pallbearers will be John Parker, Steve Slatton, Virgil Bishop, G.W.
