Mary Cookson

Mary Virginia Cookson, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, in a local hospital.She was a native of Mentone, Ala., but had lived most of her life in the Chattanooga area. Mrs. Cookson was a member of Unity Baptist Church and was retired from Textile Printing following several years of service. She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Wingfield; and husband, Emmett Cookson.Left to cherish her memory is her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Rita Wingfield; daughters-in-law, Janice Wingfield and Regenia Wingfield; grandchildren, Randy Wingfield, Jeana (Chris) McNabb, Julia (Louie) Hall, Kris (Juanita) Wingfield, Dennis (Sheila) Wingfield Jr. and Aimee Wingfield; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the South Crest Chapel with the Rev. Steve Fletcher officiating.
