Bill Adams

William "Bill" Winston Adams, 78, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 30, 2012.Two days after commemorating our great nation's fallen heroes, another veteran and hero has left this life to experience greener pastures. Bill proudly served his country through the United States Air Force with the same pride and unparalleled devotion, he cared for all of his family before hearing the call from his Lord and Savior. Bill was the owner of Chattanooga Brick and Tile, was former vice president of the National Association of Brick Distributers. He was also past president of Construction Specification Institute, a member of the Home Builder's Association and AGC.He was preceded in death by his parents, Beryl and Lena Adams; brother, Max Adams; and sister, Faye Paris.Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sally A. Adams; daughter, Sherri Adams; son, Wayne (Kim) Adams, of Signal Mountain; grandchildren, Staci Skiles (fianc, David Dobbins), of Dunlap, Peter (Rebecca) Conrad, Cole Adams and Clay Adams; great-grandchildren: Kayla, Trevor and Lucas Skiles and Riley and Macey Conrad; brother, Ken (Kate) Adams; sisters, Evelyn (Ed) Jeffries and Jan (James) Kaylor ; many nieces and nephews.Special thanks and appreciation to Jennifer Rollins, Rebecca Mullis, Pat Flowers and Gail Carter for their loving care.In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or Alexian Village of Signal Mountain.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Reverend Bert Jones officiating.Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
