Frank Jackson

Frank Vincent Jackson, 90, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012.Mr. Jackson was the founder of Jackson Bakery, which he started in 1973. The family business continues to thrive in Brainerd Village. He served his country in the U.S. Army in WW II. On his return from Europe, he became a faithful communicant at OLPH Church; where he sang in the choir for 60 years.Here he met his surviving wife of 62 years, Frances K. Jackson, at Midnight Mass. And here their nine sons were baptized and later all became altar boys.Going Home before him were sons, Frankie and Christopher. Surviving are his sons Peter, David, Dennis, Larry, John and Anthony "Bud" and their wives and 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Son, Pat, the artist, lives in Watertown, Tenn.He was preceded in death by his sisters, Sara Moore, Ruth Ward, Fannie Lee Ford and Clara Cate; and brothers, Paul, Martin and Fletcher Jackson.Frank graduated from Notre Dame H.S. in 1940 where he lettered and was All City on the football team. The teamwork continued as he played "horse" with his sons, and was "just one of the boys". He was known as "The Rose Man" at OLPH for his faithful care of the beautiful flowers growing there. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 610.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012 at OLPH Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolan officiating.Burial will follow at Mt.
