David CoatesBRIDGEPORT David Patrick Coates, 57, formerly of Jackson, Miss., died June 28, 2012.David was the son of the late John Thomas and Alice Geraldine Henson Coates born June 28, 1955 in Bridgeport, Ala. He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School Class of 1973. David was awarded a football scholarship from Ole Miss where he played football four years. He was an Athletic Director at N.W Rankin High School in Brandon, Miss. Mr. Coates attended Brainard Baptist Church in Chattanooga.Survivors include his children Drew (Lindsay) Taylor, Joseph Patrick Coates, Mary Alice Rae Coates; the mother of their children Rosemary McClendon Coates; grandchildren: Noah and Luke, all of Jackson, Miss.; brothers, John T. (Betty) Coates Jr., of Anderson, S.C. and Richard W. "Rick" Coates, of Bridgeport, Ala., and other relatives.Visitation will be today 9-10:30 a.m. CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
