Florence Phillips

Florence Roberts Phillips, of Chattanooga and formerly of Newport News, Va., died Friday, June 29, 2012 at age 100.Mrs. Phillips was the wife of the late Lt. Col. Bruce Phillips and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Roberts. Mrs. Phillips was also preceded in death by her sisters, Carrie Roberts and Sue Hopkins; and brother, Eldon Roberts.Survivors include her son Bruce (Ellen) Phillips, of Ooltewah; niece, Vikkey (Keith) Anderson, of Arlington, Va.; nephew, Bob (Sally) Hopkins, of Martinsville, Va.; granddaughter, Beth (Stewart) Cook, of Littlestown, Pa.; six great-grandchildren; three great-nieces; one great-nephew; and goddaughter, Jean (Jack) Lynch of Yorktown, Va.Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.comMemorial services and burial will be held at a later date in Newport News, Va.Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
