Nancy Feezell

ATHENS Nancy Thornburg Feezell, 71, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 20, 2012, at her residence.She was a daughter of the late R.P. and Hazel Davis Thornburg and was also preceded in death by her husband Sam L. Feezell, Sept. 7, 2010; and her brother, Charles "Moe" Thornburg.She was a member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church.Nancy was a graduate of McMinn County High School, where she was a homecoming queen. Nancy and her late husband, Sam, were owners of Athens Insurance Agency and, after retirement, they especially enjoyed spending the winter months in their Florida vacation home on Marco Island. She was active in her community and served on various Boards throughout her career. Her intelligence, sharp wit, and love of animals were evident to all who knew her.She is survived by her sister, Janice Houser, of Chattanooga; a niece and her husband, Wendy and Jeff Robertson and their childen, Laney and Lindsay Robertson, all of Memphis; and two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Elizabeth and Bill Smith, of Lexington, Ky. and Mary Grace and Paul Starnes, of Chattanooga.A funeral service will be conducted 1 pm, Saturday, March 24, 2012 in the chapel of Smith Funeral & Cremation Services with the Rev. Denny Humphreys officiating.Entombment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens Mausoleum.The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012.Pallbearers will be Jeff Robertson, Hoyl Priest, Carey Carroll, David Melton, Ebb Willson and Bill Biddle.
