Shawn Edward Johns, 46, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 21, 2012.Shawn graduated from Tyner High School where he participated on the wrestling team. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Shawn was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church where he served as a usher and was a member of the Mens Bible Study and the Singles Sunday School Class. He served as a Deputy Clerk for 20 years with the Hamilton County Criminal Court Office.Preceded in death by parents, Harold and Nell E. Johns, paternal grandparents, Howell Johns Sr. and Bertie Glover Johns; maternal grandparents, Ray and Lestie Eaves; several aunts and uncles.Survived by several aunts and uncles, Anna (Raymond) Bowman, of Ooltewah, Betty Burrow, of Hixson, Joy (Fred) Gaston, of East Ridge, Franklin (Brenda) Johns, of Apison, Anna E. Klein, of Chattanooga, Judy E. Cocoris, of California, Betty E. Smith, of Chattanooga, Mary L. Eaves, of Chattanooga and George (Vickie) Eaves, of Chattanooga. Shawn was also survived by several cousins.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. David Lawson officiating. Active pallbearers will be the Mens Bible Study Group at Woodland Park Baptist Church.Honorary pallbearers will be the Ushers at Woodland Park Baptist Church.Interment will be in Tyner Cemetery.
