Edna Fairbanks

Edna M. Fairbanks, 90, of Ooltewah, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012.She was the daughter of the late Robert and Lena McBee and was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Gene" Fairbanks; three brothers, one grandson; and one great-grandson.Edna retired working over 50 years as a hairdresser. She was the former owner of the House of Beauty salon and also worked several years at Cuts and Things in Ooltewah. She was well known locally for her art work and an active member of the Civic Art League.She was a member of Savannah Bay Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.Survivors include her six sons, Mark (Rosa) Fairbanks, McDonald, Billy "Shorty" (Mary) Fairbanks, Ooltewah, Bobby (Voula) Fairbanks, Chattanooga, Curtis (Stella) Fairbanks, Soddy-Daisy, Richard (Brenda) Fairbanks, Canton, Texas, Michael (Judy) Fairbanks, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; foster son, Eddie Cross, Signal Mountain; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; stepfather, Jess Sargent, Smithville, Tenn.; sister, Ava Becraft, Monteagle, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Roberts, the Rev.
