Barbara Johnston

Barbara Bazemore Johnston, a longtime resident of Signal Mountain, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at a health care facility in Church Hill, Tenn.She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney F. Johnston Jr.She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Barbie Skelton M.D. and husband, Gary, of Church Hill, and Julie Van Valkenburg and husband, Rodney, of Signal Mountain. Her cherished grandsons, Ian Smith and Jake Van Valkenburg, also survive her.Memorial gifts can be made in her honor in care of St. Timothys Episcopal Church's On This Rock Endowment Fund or the Tennessee Humane Animal League's Pet Placement Center.Services will be at 12:30 p.m. today at St. Timothys Episcopal Church, with interment to follow at National Cemetery.
