John Peters

ROSSVILLE John Hayes Peters, 79, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at his residence.He was a native and lifelong resident of North Georgia. Mr. Peters was a member of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church. He retired from Dupont after 38 years of service and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He enjoyed his flowers, gardening, fishing and camping.He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Mathew Peters and Jewel Hayes Peters; and brothers, Ralph Peters and Lamar Peters.Survivors are his wife, Wanda Harris Peters; daughters, Linda (John Paul) Greene, McDonald, Tenn., Susan (Mike) Gamble, Chattanooga, and Lori (Rich) Oliver, Ooltewah; sister, Margaret Peters Harris, Ringgold, Ga.; grandchildren, Evan Greene, Robyn Greene, and Rachel Gamble; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Elder Wayne Peters and Elder Joe Hayes officiating.Interment in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort with the family and view the memorial tribute.The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
