John Ferguson

Jr.CHICKAMAUGA John Leonard Ferguson Jr., 82, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012.He was born July 28, 1930 and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Ferguson was retired from the Chattanooga Fire Department after 28 years of service and was a veteran of the United States Navy.He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Leola Griffin Ferguson; and two sisters, Louise Roberts and Naomi Cooley.Survivors are his loving wife of 48 years Linda Cassel Ferguson; sons, Randy Ferguson and Danny Ferguson, of Chickamauga, Ga.; daughters, Brenna Fairchild, of Chattanooga. Kristy "Pooh" Sparks of Chickamauga; sister, Margaret Gamble, of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Britney and Jordan Ferguson, Taylor and Rolan Ferguson, Justin Smith, Shelby and Rusty Sparks; several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. today at Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev.
