Louise Steele

ROSSVILLE Louise Steele, 93, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2012, at her residence.She was born on May 2, 1919 to the late Walter and Lillie Mathis in Bridgeport, Ala. She had lived most of her life in Rossville, had worked many years at Peerless Woolen Mills, and she retired from Morrison's Cafeteria with 17 years of service. Her passions in life were spending time with her family, cooking, and traveling. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.She is survived by four generations, her daughter, Peggy Smith; grandsons, Greg Smith and Mark (Susan) Smith; granddaughter, Deborah (Dave) Lieske; great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Bailee Smith; great-grandsons, Craig and Dean Smith, Tim and Andrew Lieske; great-great-grandsons, Brayden Smith and Cannon Smith; and several nieces and nephews.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Solamor Hospice and to Dean Smith for their care during this time.Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.Graveside services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Pastor Brian Haney officiating.The family will receive friends today from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
