Virgie Hawkins

Virgie Lee "Granny" Hawkins, 93, of Signal Mountain, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012.She was preceded in death by her husband, C.L. Hawkins; sons, L.C. Hawkins, James Ray Hawkins, Kenneth Lee Hawkins; daughters, Betty McCulley, Vickie Pickett and Sarah Faye Hawkins.She is survived by her two sons, Wayne Hawkins, Jackie Hawkins; daughter, Mary Jane Shell (Jerry); brother, Bobby Pennington; sister, Hazel Mayes; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Lone Oak Church of God, with Pastor Teddy Ott officiating. Ms. Hawkins body will lie in state at the Church from noon to 1 p.m. Friday.Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.Visitation is today from 3-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
