CHICKAMAUGA Helen Carolyn Smith Ellis, 87, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2012. She was born in Chickamauga, Ga., to the late Ernest R. (Sam) and Effie Ellis Smith. She was a lifelong resident of Chickamauga, Ga., where she worked at Crystal Springs Print Works for over fifty years. She was a member of Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church and attended the First Baptist Church of Chickamauga. She was a member of the Chickamauga Homemakers Club. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, W.B. "Slick" Ellis; and a sister, Pauline Smith Sherrill.She is survived by her children, Susan Ellis, of Chickamauga, Ga., Lee (Gail) Tade, of Hixson, Tenn.; sister, Ann Smith Hill, of Chickamauga, Ga.; grandchildren, Gary Tade, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Leslie (Zack) Tade Murdock, of Knoxville, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Larkyn, Addisyn and Colin Murdock, of Knoxville, Tenn.; special nieces and nephews, Connie and Jeff McDaniel, of Chickamauga, Ga., Tracy and Keith Richey, of Rossville, Ga., Monty and Jane Hill, of Scottsboro, Ala.; great nephews, David McDaniel and Keith Richey II. The family would like to express a sincere "Thank You" to Dr. Patrick Rhyne for all of his Love and Care for Mrs. Ellis. The family will receive friends today from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 8, at noon until the service. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in the chapel with Reverend Chris Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Chickamauga Cemetery.
