John Ferguson

PIKEVILLE John Estil Ferguson, 88, went to be with the Lord Monday, Nov. 5, 2012. He served in World War II, Korea and the beginning of Vietnam as a Master Sergeant in the US Air Force. While he was in the military and as he and his wife traveled, they started missions and churches in Arizona, Chattanooga and Sequatchie Valley. He had the privilege to preach in Wakini Japan and fly with a group of ministers that was named WINGS FOR CHRIST. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Stella Ferguson; and 10 of his siblings.Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Jean Ferguson; three daughters; two sons; several grandchildren; and brothers, Virgil (Grace) Ferguson and Marshal (Lois) Ferguson.Funeral services are 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Reverend Donald Ferguson and Reverend Ray Chism officiating. Interment will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The North American Missions Board, P.O. Box 116543, Atlanta, GA 30368.
