Hal Jones

HARRIMAN Hal Hawk Jones passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.He lived 94 well-spent years and was an accomplished husband, father, gardener, salesman, and friend. His garden flowers and smile lit up rooms, and his garden vegetables fed a host of family and friends. He was an active member of Harriman United Methodist Church, the Harriman Garden Club, and a 40-year Kiwanis member. He retired as Regional Sales Manager for Stratton & Terstegge Co., and served as a Staff Sergeant in the Medical Corps of the Army/Air Force during WWII.He leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Margaret Jones; son, John (Jamey) Jones; daughters, Lynn Landry and Judy (Dan) Housley; and grandchildren, Erin (Keith) Wainright, Jack (Weatherly) Landry, Justin Jones, Will (Liz) Jones, Ben Housley and Hannah Housley; and great-grandchildren, Mallory and Parker Wainright, Gus and Boone Landry; as well as cherished nieces, cousins, friends, and his dog Murphy.His beautiful smile and spirit will be sorely missed.A celebration of his life will be held at Harriman United Methodist Church on Saturday, Nov. 17; Hals family will receive friends at 10 a.m., service at 11 with a reception following in the fellowship hall.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Harriman United Methodist Church, 601 Queen St., Harriman 37748, or the charity of your choice.Arrangements by Kyker Funeral Home, Harriman.
