FORT OGLETHORPE Leola Bartlett Leonard, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at her residence.She was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and an active member of First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe. Mrs. Leonard was a founding member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe where she played the organ for many years. She was had been employed by the Georgia Department of Labor for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Royce Leonard.Survivors are sons, Ron Leonard and David Leonard, both of Ringgold; daughters, Marketta (Jim) Howard, Ringgold; grandchildren, Taylor Leonard, Mary Leonard, Daniel Leonard, Amy Smithson, Julie Standefer and Darren Leonard; great-grandchildren, Allison Standefer, Jackson Standefer, Sarah Catherine Smithson, Ashley Smithson and Isabella Leonard.The family wishes to gave special thanks to Wanda, Joyce, Lorie and Hospice of Chattanooga for the loving care they gave our mother.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jason Thomas officiating.
