PENSACOLA, Fla. Kenneth Wayne Matthews, 51, passed away on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012.He was born on Nov. 16, 1961, in Fayette, Ala. He was raised in Panama City, but has since lived in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. and Chattanooga.Ken was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lee Matthews.He is survived by his wife, Becky Lay Matthews; mother, Dell Ward Matthews; step-mother, Ruth Matthews; mother-in-law, Patricia Lay; brother, Byron (Karen) Matthews and son, Lucas; stepbrothers, Justin (Veo) Mills and daughter, Evelynne, and Tony (Ashley) Mills; aunts, Joyce (Jim) Gaines, Juanita (James) Windham, Shirley (Ted) Bobo and Sara (Robert) Moore; uncle, James Harold (Alene) Ward; many cousins, other family members, and a vast array of very close friends.The family appreciates the loving care and treatment of Ken from Dr. Carletta Collins and staff; The Baptist Infusion Center; Fresenius Medical Care; the caretakers of Baptist Hospital 3 West; and Emerald Coast Hospice.Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Visitation will be held on Sunday, at 1:30 until the service begins at 2 p.m. at Windy Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor, Ricky Skaggs officiating.
