Dewayne Burton

Floyd Dewayne Burton, 76, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away, Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012.A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, he was the son of the late William and Nelle Burton of Meigs County. He attended the East Chattanooga Church of God for the past 43 years and was retired from DuPont after 34 years of service and was known there as the "Dude". He was a graduate of Birchwood High School, class of 1954 and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1958-1962. The family would like extend a special thank you to Shirley McCormick, Tamela Sheats, Robert and Jeanine Mullin and to the East Chattanooga Church of God.Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Reva Jean Burton; son, Timothy D. Burton; daughter, Katrina Burton; granddaughter, Mackenzie Burton; sister, Sue Gibson; brother, Troy Burton, both of Meigs County; two nieces, Donna (Gary) Sneed and Christy (Stephen) Miller; nephew, Thomas Gibson.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Fred Smith and the Rev.
