Eva Fields

Eva Mae Fields, 94, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012.She was born Dec. 6, 1917 in Grantville, Ga., to the late Dan and Ada Willis. She attended school in Georgia and later moved to Chattanooga. Eva was a dedicated member of the community by being a teacher and a caregiver. She was of Baptist faith.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Adolphus Harris and out of that union they had a son, the late Eddie Frank Harris. She later united with the late Thomas Willie Fields; also preceding her in death is her two brothers, John Henry and Cosby Willis; three sisters, Minnie Marcus, Elizabeth Johnson and Dora Clark.She leaves to cherish her memory a dedicated niece and nephew, Mattie Sims and Ellis Johnson; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m, Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
