Mary E. "Buddy"Kilgore Gardner, 81, of East Ridge, passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012.Mary has lived in the Chattanooga area for more than 70 years. and was of the Christian faith. Mary was a beautician for many years and enjoyed life and her family to the fullest. "Buddy" was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, who will be greatly missed.Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James Donald Gardner Sr.; parents, Ernest W. Carter and Mary Ida Medlock Brown; sister, Jimmie Faye Crisp; and brothers, Ernest "Sonny" Carter Jr. and Michael E. Brown She is survived by her children, Debbie Kilgore and Eddie Kilgore, both of East Ridge; sisters, Carol McTigue, of Wildwood and Jan Casteel, of Chattanooga; brothers, Jerry C. Carter Sr., of Flat Rock, Ala., and J.M. Brown, of Steinhatchee, Fla.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Jimmy Hixon and Brother Michael Smith officiating.Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.The family will receive friends all day today and prior to the service on Friday.Arrangements by W.L.
